Florence, S.C. lawyer charged with DUI

A lawyer in Florence was charged with driving under the influence two days ago - as I've often said, DUI charges are the great equalizer and can happen to anyone; attorneys, judges, police, clergy, anyone.

Highway Patrol arrested the Florence County Attorney for driving under the influence.

Police say [the attorney] hit a mailbox Sunday. He was taken to the Florence County Detention Center where he was booked for DUI and failure to report striking fixtures on or adjacent to highway.

[This attorney] is a great man and has done many things for Florence County. He has been battling cancer for 5 months and was arrested in his neighborhood after having 2 beers. He should not be judged by his character for this incident. Everyone in Florence is standing behind him.

I agree, which is why the attorney's name did not appear in my post (above comment edited to remove the name).

The attorney maybe a good man. Does that mean he doesnt have to take responsiblity for his actions? Everyone says"I only drunk two beer"!

Most importantly, to the lawyer who was charged, how are you doing today???....please feel free to conact me, signed In Your Corner
